Glowing reviews for Château Beauvallon

Glowing reviews for Mont-Tremblant Hotel Château Beauvallon

TREMBLANT EXPRESS APRIL2006
HOME SECTION - by André courey

The new Château Beauvallon is getting glowing reviews from visitors and locals alike. “The response has been very encouraging”, says Director Jean-Louis Narboni. "Château Beauvallon is getting rave reviews on the travel web sites."

Indeed, the reviews on one of the world’s largest web sites, “Tripadvisor”, attest to Jean-Louis’ comments. “Awesome, awesome, awesome”, writes one visitor from New York, adding, “Kudos to the proprietors for melding traditional warmth and charm with modern amenities”. Another reviewer from Kingston, Ontario, writes, “The service was absolutely excellent from the moment we arrived”. The writer also had high praise for the many amenities. “The hot tub is fantastic, located amongst a beautiful setting”. Still another reviewer in the United Kingdom writes, “I can strongly recommend this new hotel”.

The comments from locals have been equally flattering. “It’s lovely. Everything is in very good taste and the scale is just right. It’s spacious, airy without being too impressive…it’s warm and comfortable”, said several of the 200 invited guests at a reception for the local community. Principal owners Gavin MacDonald, Pierre Dupré and Rich Masterson threw open the Beauvallon’s doors in mid-February with much the same welcoming geniality for which the old inn was so appreciated in Mont-Tremblant in days gone by. It seems those days have returned at the Château Beauvallon, perhaps better than ever. Locals mingled at the inn once again, enjoying the décor, the ambiance and the tasty “hors-d’oeuvres”. Some took advantage of the huge fireplace in the hearth room overlooking the grounds at the back, sitting back in deep, comfortable sofas, sipping cocktails. In an outdoor ceremony charmingly reminiscent of the old days, the local priests, Father Marc Richer and Father Sylvain Desrosiers, gave their benediction to the new Château Beauvallon.

Jean-Louis says he hopes locals will drop in often to enjoy lunch or dinner at the restaurant or refreshments at the bar and the garden terrace this summer. “We’re preparing a host of activities and special events for the summer”, he added. The spirit of the old, historic inn is back.

Add Google Maps’ Directions to Your Site

This actually is a blog entry I found on another site: malevolent design weblog. As you'll notice, I modified it slightly.

If you have a business which gets visitors to its premises you’ve probably created some kind of map yourself and maybe tried to write some generalised directions, but it can be tricky to get right. Using a simple form on your site you can also offer users a personalised map and directions courtesy of Google Maps. Just modify the appropriate code snippet below to include the destination and any extra formatting markup needed.

(Developer Bonus: Google has now released the Google Maps API for embedding maps and adding your own data.)

Immediately after I chose MoreVisibility as my Search Engine Marketing & Optimization firm, I began to see results. Specifically, my Client Relations Account Manager, Marni Haas, Drew Nevelos, and the rest of the MoreVisibility team instructed me to optimize my Web site by building links to landing pages to create a relevance for targeting keywords. I learned about how to write effective Web site copy and Meta titles and descriptions. All of which resulted in greater "natural" search-engine positioning. This visibility directly impacted the increase in traffic to www.chateaubeauvallon.com and it's Français counterpart www.chateaubeauvallon.ca. I was very pleased with the quick and effective results, and I feel that due to the boost in sales and traffic that MoreVisibility helped to generate, I was able to bring in an additional project-www.333sherbrooke.com.

From the sales team to client relations, working with MoreVisibility has been a great pleasure. I am very pleased with their performance and look forward to continuing our relationship.

Mont-Tremblant: The History of Château Beauvallon

Mont-Tremblant: The History of Château Beauvallon Contributed by Julie Lepsetz

The history of Château Beauvallon is closely intertwined with the story and development of Mont-Tremblant. Both owe thanks to an adventurous Philadelphian named Joseph Bondurant Ryan, whose great vision, determination and love of the region left an indelible imprint on Tremblant and helped fundamentally shape its destiny.
Born at the turn of the century, Joe Ryan was the grandson of Thomas Fortune Ryan, one of America's wealthiest railway tycoons. Along with his fortune, the younger Ryan inherited his grandfather's ambition. Ryan also possessed a love of exploration, wilderness and travelling.

In 1938, Ryan visited Mont-Tremblant for the first time, and after an arduous, unaided climb to the highest peak, fell in love with the mountain. From that point on, his life's goal would be to make the mountain accessible to others, and to transform the region into a world-class alpine village.

In 1939, Ryan married Mary Rutherford, and Mont-Tremblant was officially inaugurated. By the end of the year, Time magazine noted the Laurentians were a popular destination for American skiers, and Mont-Tremblant was the newest fashionable meeting place.

Mont-Tremblant: The History of Château BeauvallonJoe and Mary Ryan opened the original Château Beauvallon in 1942. Initially meant to be a clubhouse for a golf course that was never built, the Château nevertheless became an important landmark in the Mont-Tremblant region. In 1949, the Ryans sold Château Beauvallon to Harry and Isabelle Stokes, who would run the inn for the next 11 years.

Throughout the 1950s, Château Beauvallon became the destination for parties. It was known as the best late-night watering hole in the region, where friends came together to relax. Guests poured their own drinks, wrote their own bills and enjoyed great food and live jazz sessions.

Château Beauvallon changed hands throughout the 1960s, but found more permanent proprietors in 1976. Alex and Judy Riddell renovated the property and operated it as a country inn, one that slept up to 30 people. Actor Paul Newman was a guest during the 1980s, and Alex Riddell took him skiing for a day.

Mont-Tremblant: The History of Château BeauvallonIn 1998, the Riddell's sold Château Beauvallon to RHK Developments, who closed the aging inn. In 2003, the empty building was sold to Groupe Avantage, and plans were laid to resurrect the concept of the Château.

Today, Château Beauvallon has undergone a complete renaissance. The brand new, 70-suite resort hotel evokes the charm and spirit of the original inn, while offering more a luxurious space and modern amenities. The perfect melange of past and present, Château Beauvallon remains a destination where family and friends can come together.

Why Ski in Mont Tremblant?

Mont-Tremblant is the premier resort for four season fun and relaxation. This corner of paradise offers the spring and summer vacationer golf, water sports, horseback riding, biking, festivals and so much more for all the family to enjoy. In fall the leaves begin to change and colorfully announce the arrival of a magical and special time of year – winter!!!

As the snow begins to cover the trees and mountain tops and the lakes freeze, Mont-Tremblant changes its costume from vivid fall colors to glistening white with bright blues skies. The area abounds in winter time sports and fun – dog sledding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and, of course, skiing!

Tremblant has been voted the number one ski resort in Eastern North America, year after year by ski publications and avid skiers. It raises a majestic 2871 feet into the air, has 94 trails, the longest being 3.75 miles and altogether there are 625.5 acres of ski able ground. There are trails for beginners, intermediates and at least 47 trails for skiing experts. Not quite sure how to go down a slope gracefully and safely, enroll in “Snow School” where lessons are provided for small groups of adults, teens and even toddlers and babies. Private lessons are also available.

Mont-Tremblant’s lift system handles 27,230 skiers per hour so there’s no wasting of fun time waiting to get to the top. You can choose the Gondola for an impressive, overall view of the mountain and surrounding area, high-speed quads or magic carpets. And for the hungry skier or mountain visitor, there are many lunch spots that offer warming hot chocolate and soups, sandwiches or complete meals.

While on skis discover the mountain's long history by taking advantage of a free guided tour. Learn the origins of trail names. Seek out the prime lookouts, the sunniest trails and the little-know rest stops. The tour lasts 45 to 60 minutes and is available to skiers of all skill levels.

Be certain to sample some of the other wintertime sports and activities. For the very adventuresome there is ice climbing or riding the snowmobile. Snowshoeing is a great alternative if cross-country skiing. Sleigh rides are great for the whole family or for a romantic evening with someone special.

Due to the incredibly high number of tourists that visit Mont-Tremblant, finding the right kind of hotel or accommodation is never too difficult, as the hotel business has gradually become a tradition in this area. No matter if you elect just a basic accommodation package or you would rather book a room in an exquisite all-suite hotel, such as Chateau Beauvallon (http://www.chateaubeauvallon.com), for example, you are very likely to feel like home! For all these reasons, and many others to be discovered, your vacation in Mont-Tremblant will be an unforgettable experience.
